Katrina: An Unnatural Disaster — a multimedia site which I coded as part of a MediaStorm team hired by the Open Society Institute — has won a 2008 Webby Award in the Charitable Organizations Nonprofit category.

Hailed as the “Oscars of the Internet” by the New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet, including Websites, Interactive Advertising, Online Film & Video, and Mobile Websites. The 12th Annual Webby Awards received 10,000 entries from all 50 states and over 60 countries worldwide.

The Open Society Institute and MediaStorm collaborated to produce the Katrina: An Unnatural Disaster multimedia site, which chronicles the struggles and triumphs of Gulf Coast residents in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The site features the work of OSI Katrina Media Fellows, dozens of award-winning print and radio journalists, photographers, filmmakers and youth media organizations.
